Good and Bad Interview

Good Interview

The video above is an interview about Katie Piper as she has moved on with her life after an acid attack that was thrown in her face by her ex-boyfriend.

The lighting in this room is quiet bright even though it is a dull subject they are talking about.

The questions asked by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were mainly open questions so the audience could find out more information on what her life has been like and what she has planned for the future (Katie Piper foundation).

Bad Interview

Above video is a radio interview with Kanye West. This is an example of a bad interview because there isn't much questions being asked Kanye West talks forever. This can be boring to the audience for example when he gets asked a question he answers by telling a whole story about a different topic. Also the interview is not organised as everyone is trying to get a word in an speaking over each other. There is a bit of conflict/confrontation between the radio presenter and Kanye for example when the radio presenter was telling Kanye about his dislike to 'Yeezus' and he didn't care about what he said and moved onto what someone else was saying.

Film Language

Texas Chainsaw

In the video above you will see the trailer for Texas Chainsaw Massacre. You can watch this film in 3D and was released in January 2012. It is a remake of the film that was made in 1974.

Setting: There are many settings in this film but the main setting of this film is in a family house but there are also scenes at graveyard, house basement and in a derelict building. All these settings where good places to set the tone needed for this horror film as it is a common area where you would expect to see a horror occur and all these places you associate with death/horror.

Props: The main character is called leather face so he is wearing a leather mask throughout the whole movie and carries around a chainsaw. There is a use of a coffin in the graveyard scene, pool table and a camper van which makes an appearance during the movie.

Facial expression: Throughout the movie there is different emotions it goes from happy because a young women has come to collect her inheritance which was the house where the main film was set so emotions would of been on a high. Astounded, happy and grateful that she has just gained a new house but further on into the story there is a sense of fear, alarming, anxiety, panic and confusion as to why there is someone try to kill her and her friends.

Body Language/Movement: The body language at the start of this trailer was very fun and easy going as it was exciting with nothing expected to happen. As they was just enjoying their time in a new house/place they had nothing to worry about. Later on through the trailer you see the change in atmosphere, body language and movement as the music becomes more frantic and pace becomes much more quicker.

Lighting and Colour: The colour/mood darkens as it was sunny at the start of the trailer and has become dark and gloomy by the time it gets to the end which shows there is nothing enjoyable/ exciting about to happen.

Scottish Independence

Yes Campaign:
I don't know much about politics and the Scottish independence but there are many opportunities if Scotland is separate from England for example: -The support will be there for families with affordable childcare. -Keeping university tuition free. -A retirement worth working for and many more reasons. (http://www.yesscotland.net/)
Infographic image showing just how diverse and robust the Scottish economy is

Personally I think Scotland should separate because there will be a more secure future for the younger and older generations. If I lived in Scotland I would not think about the negatives of separating from England but the positives that will effect me as there is most likely to be more benefits then negatives.

No Campaign:

As it won't affect me I do not care a great deal about what happens tomorrow (19th September) but the UK's economy will decrease, oil and whisky might be more of an expense to buy.  Britain's identity will decrease and there overseas status will become much weaker. For someone who lives outside of the UK Scotland is expected to stay part of the EU this means there will be major changes for investors and tourists. (http:bettertogether.net/)

Holly Harvey Says: "Saying no to the separation of Scotland means you can take full advantage of what Scotland has to offer".

If Scotland does separate the prices for most things like house mortgages  will increase even more and become very expensive for both people of Scotland and people in England.

Personally I think it will be much more easier if we stayed together as it means less problems for example the UK flag will have to change. On the better together website they use alot of good reasons to agree no to the separation. The also use different people and their views like LGBT activist, former performance director of British Cycling and a ship builder and they explain how it will effect them. They have also put on the website that the poorest people will be feel the effect most of the split which makes people feel guilty to vote yes.

Review

Today I learnt all about the roles that were needed for a TV production. This consisted of; -Floor Manager who is responsible for what's happening as they are the director in the studio. They countdown for the presenters before coming on air and responsible for when they need to sign out and finish. The floor manager is the communicator between the editing studio and the filming crew. -Sound Engineer is the person responsible for sound checks with the microphones to make sure they are the right volume for that person this is normally done through a mixing equipment. They are in control of the volume for videos and music. -Vision Mixer cuts the camera shots from one camera to the other in our lesson we used 3 cameras which the vision mixer would cut and mix between the shots. They are also in control of videos, graphics and background pictures in the production.  -Director is the coordinator of everything that happens in TV studio and their assistant is the person that will help with the TV filming starting and finishing at the right time. Presenters/Reporters- It is key on air that they look in the right camera (towards the audience) and if directions are given from the floor manager they adjust if needed. Also when a countdown begins to sign on or off they have to be ready for change. Camera Operator- Filming everything that needs to go on air and make sure they are in the right direction and in the best angle.

Technology we used: Cameras, Microphones, Playback TV, Audio mixer and Visual mixer.  The process we went through with the making of the news production is everyone contributing by finding the latest news and as a group we all decided the top and most important stories.  The news editor worked out the set and located everyone a job role in the studio so we could see how everything works. Once this had been sorted we got graphics sorted and done sound check then commence with the production.

We could improve our production in the lesson by having more planning time. Having music/jingle in the background which is related to what we are doing. Headings for different categories in each part of the news. Starting with longer stories and ending with the shorter and least interesting/ important stories.
