New Romantics

The New Romantics were a fashion movement that peaked in the United Kingdom during the late 1970s/early 1980s.

Artists/Bands:
Boy George: Boy George is an English singer-songwriter, fashion designer and photographer, who was part of the English New Romantic movement. 

Duran Duran: Duran Duran are an English new wave/synthpop band formed in Birmingham in 1978. They were a successful band of the 1980s and a leading band in the MTV-driven "Second British Invasion" of the US.

Techno Twins:
The Techno Twins (later known simply as The Technos) were a British electronic duo in the 1980s. The band, consisting of husband-wife duo Steve Fairnie and Bev Sage

UK in 1980s:
The decade saw great socioeconomic change due to advances in technology and the beginning of globalisation.

USA in 1980s:
Many Americans embraced a new tradition in social, economic and political life during the 1980s, characterised by the policies of President Ronald Reagan. 1980s is often remembered for its materialism, the decade also saw the rise of the “yuppie,” which is an explosion of blockbuster movies and the appearance of cable networks like MTV, which introduced the music video and launched the careers of many iconic artists.
